Welcome to the Clyde Bat Group

We promote bat conservation and encourage bat populations

The Bat Cave

The Bat Cave

Clyde Bat Group was relaunched in 1997 after a period of hibernation. We are group of individuals with an interest in Bat conservation. We come from many walks of life including Countryside Rangers, Bus Drivers, Office Workers etc, who all have an interest in bats. Many of us have built up our experience through working with bats and learning all about them from others in the group.

We are very keen to hear from anyone with an interest who would like to be a member. You can take an active part in surveying, guided walks and talks or you can come along to the talks that are organised for our members or take no part at all. All the money we receive from membership goes back into bat conservation and all the time given by the existing members is free!

Our aims

  • to promote bat conservation
  • to increase public awareness of bats
  • to visit homes where bats are found to offer advice
  • to organise conservation projects such as bat surveys and bat box schemes
  • to monitor and record bat roosts and distribution in our area
  • to assist with taking in sick or injured bats for rehabilitation and release back into the wild

Please feel free to email, phone or write to us if you have any questions about bats or membership.
